The 5th Intelligent Manufacturing System Solutions Conference, sponsored by China Intelligent Manufacturing System Integrator Consortium (IMSI), took place on August 9, 2022 in Beijing. Relevant government officials and industrialist circles attending included Xin Guobin, Party Leadership Group member and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Zhou Ji, Academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Wang Weiming and Wang Hong, Director General and Deputy Director General, respectively, of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s Department of Equipment Manufacturing Industries I; Zhao Xinhua, President of China Electronics Standardization Institute; and Cheng Duofu, Secretary General of IMSI and Vice President of China Electronics Standardization Institute. Liu Fenmin, Deputy Product Management Department General Manager of Hangzhou HollySys Automation Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech at the conference.
Themed "Five Years Towards A Shared Smart Future", the 5th Intelligent Manufacturing System Solutions Conference created a platform for cooperation and exchange between suppliers and customers in a "1+X" mode, in order to promote cross region/industry experience exchange, sharing of advanced experience in policy planning, technological innovation, industrial application and market promotion, and to summarize the achievements in IMSI development over the past five years.
In his keynote speech on "Digital Innovation and Transformation of Process Industry Control Systems", Liu Fenmin introduced HollySys's industry-leading independently-developed OCS industrial optical bus control system, from the perspectives of challenges faced by process industry customers, digital innovation solutions, value created for customers, typical applications and performance.
Integrating the state-of-the-art "Onet industrial optical bus technology" and "software-defined I/O technology", HollySys's OCS industrial optical bus control system represents control system technological innovation in the area of input, output and transmission of field signals. Consisting of an industrial optical bus intelligent data transmission unit (iDTU) pre-positioned in the industrial environment (the iDTU supports positioning in Zone 2 hazardous environment), and the redundant Onet industrial optical bus supporting remote data transmission over a high- reliability, high-speed industrial optical bus network architecture, HollySys's OCS system, which is covered by 6 invention patents, solves problems that plague traditional signal transmission, such as electromagnetic and common-mode interference while greatly reducing consumption of copper core cables.
Liu Fenmin also reviewed the system’s superior cost performance, which greatly reduces the cost to customers in terms of both investment and operating expenses. Specifically savings of over 30% in project costs, over 70% in terms of cabinet area reductions, and over 50% in terms of project duration. Widely applicability across industries including oil refining, petrochemical engineering, coal chemical processing, chemical engineering, offshore oil and gas platforms, onshore oil and gas fields, long-distance oil and gas transmission pipelines, liquefied natural gas, and city gas, it has been successfully applied at hundreds of industrial sites with positive feedback from numerous industry users.
Liu Fenmin's impressive speech helped shape a deep understanding of HollySys's OCS industrial optical bus control system among the officials and guests present, who unanimously recognized and praised its advantages in driving progress towards the "dual-carbon" goals.
As the Director-General member enterprise of the IMSI, HollySys has been actively engaged in all of the consortium’s activities during the past five years, offering advice and suggestions. HollySys was honored with the "Membership Award for Outstanding Contributions 2021" for its strong role plays in promoting the IMSI’s development in a special ceremony before the conference closed.
