At 17:17 on January 5, 2022, Unit 2 of Qinlong Jimusaer Power (Xinjiang Beisan Power Plant Project) passed the 168-hour full-load trial operation test at the first attempt. Following the successful test, the unit was officially put into commercial operation, marking the successful operation of both units of the Project, i.e. Unit 1 and Unit 2. The Project is a benchmarking project for the integrated STG and BOP systems, plant-wide fieldbus, and full-process smart power plant of HollySys. HollySys has developed a planning scheme titled “Full-Process Smart Collaboration Center” for the Project, which covers four functional modules (intelligent power generation platform, smart management service platform, intelligent facility application, and active information security defense), aiming at building a world-class intelligent power plant with low carbon, environmental friendliness and leading technology, as well as providing a new model case for the construction of full-process smart power plants for China’s thermal power industry.
Xinjiang Beisan Power Plant Project is the first energy project of Shaanxi Investment Group during its implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative in Xinjiang. The Project will transmit power to Eastern China by relying on the Zhundong-Southern Anhui ± 1,100 KV UHVDC Transmission Project, which, on top of being the world’s longest transmission line, has the highest voltage level, most advanced technology level, and largest transmission capacity in the world. Based on the annual utilization hours of the units of 4,700 hours, the 2 x 660 MW highly efficient ultra-supercritical coal-fired indirect-air-cooled generator units can generate power of 6.204 TWh per year, 5.953 TWh of which will be delivered to the grid. The Project has achieved ten first-class standards and is China’s first fully digitized smart power plant, first power plant that burns 100% high-sodium coal, first thermal power plant that truly realizes zero discharge of wastewater, and the first power plant that applies 100% fieldbus technology. The Project adopts the HollySys’ 5th generation of high-reliability DCS (i.e. MACS V6) and the DCS controller + industrial fieldbus technology to realize control functions. The number of DPUs for a single unit of the Project is 40 pairs, including 7 pairs for the common system and 21 pairs for the BOP system. The number of cabinets for the whole plant is 137, including 35 fieldbus cabinets and 28 auxiliary cabinets. The control system provides a platform to realize digital communication and centralized digital control of the field control equipment and to provide big data intelligent control strategies and information processing means for the power plant to implement schemes such as intelligent equipment management and control, real-time state detection, and intelligent robot inspection. The HollySys Project Team encountered many unfavorable factors such as a tight schedule and the COVID-19 pandemic, but thanks to all parties cooperating with each other to actively allocate resources, they were able to complete all tasks with high quality. Therefore, the users presented a banner for appreciation to HollySys, fully recognizing our quality products and excellent skills. They have also spoken highly of the working attitude, high sense of responsibility and service spirit of the HollySys Project Team.
The successful operation of the DCS for both units and the stable and reliable operation of the systems fully prove the comprehensive strength of HollySys in the field of intelligent power plant construction and also lay a solid foundation for the construction of coming intelligent power plant projects.
