HollySys helped smooth the interim handover of Qilu Petrochemical-Shengli Oilfield CCUS Project, China's first MTPA-level CCUS project?, on January 29, 2022, which serves as an application case for promoting scale development of CCUS in China and is of great significance to effectively improve China's carbon dioxide emission reduction capacity and build a mode of “artificial carbon cycle”.
CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage), which encompasses the technologies to capture and purify CO2 in emissions and recycle it in other production processes or store it, is an important means to control greenhouse gas emissions and achieve China's goal of carbon neutrality.
Qilu Petrochemical-Shengli Oilfield CCUS Project has been valued highly by state leaders since construction, and President Xi visited the project site on October 21, 2021. Sinopec always insists on green development and follows the national call for peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality.
By this MTPA-level CCUS project, one million tons of carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced every year, equivalent to planting nearly nine million trees or putting nearly 600,000 economy cars out of operation for one year. This will vigorously promote the cleaning of fossil energy, scaling up of clean energy and expansion of low-carbon production.
HollySys provides a total solution of process control integrating DCS+SIS+GDS for the Project, which gives solid guarantee for users to realize integrated control, management and operation of process units and supporting systems. Despite adverse factors such as a tight schedule and repeated COVID-19 outbreaks, the project team, under the direct leadership of the top management of HollySys, pooled the quality resources of HollySys for the Project, and all departments made joint efforts: for example, the Design Center and the Manufacturing Center input more manpower for work on two shifts, to complete the integration in advance; the Test Center gave priority of guarantee to the Project; the Storage and Transportation Department made special arrangement of transportation for express delivery overnight to No. 2 Chemical Fertilizer Plant of Qilu Petrochemical, and successfully completed the delivery on schedule.
After the goods arrived at the site, HollySys's project team strictly controlled the project implementation quality on site with the aim to create a model project, and worked overtime and carefully to meet the schedule requirements and guarantee the quality, winning high recognition from the Client. This again proved that HollySys employees have strong sense of responsibility, diligence and service spirit.
